Brachioplasty, or arm tuck, is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the area of the upper arms. This procedure is invaluable in improving the appearance of drooping or sagging upper arms which tend to occur with significant weight loss, the natural effects of aging, excessive tanning of the skin, or genetic propensity. The arm tuck procedure can help create a well-defined, trim and toned upper arm that complements your figure as well as your wardrobe.

During the procedure, an incision is made on the bottom side of the upper arm from near the elbow all the way to the armpit. Once the incision is made, loose skin is carefully removed to create a new contour to the upper arm. Liposuction may be performed if there is any significant fat accumulation within the upper arms. The procedure usually takes about 2 hours and is generally performed using general anesthesia at a certified outpatient surgery facility.

Today's arm lift techniques are safer and the scars are much less conspicuous than in the past. As an accomplished cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Calvert takes great care to minimize scarring inextricably associated with this surgical procedure. The end result should be a firmer more youthful looking contour to the upper arms.
